Amy Gibbs, OTR, MOT
Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Amy Gibbs is a pediatric occupational therapist at West Texas Rehab. She was trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding in February, 2013. After training, she initiated a feeding program at WTRC, known as Food School, working with children ages 18 months and older. The goals of the program are to teach families strategies to improve acceptance of a variety of foods, including proteins, vegetables, and fruits, along with providing strategies to decrease the stress associated with meal time, educating on the myths of eating, and providing education on problem meal time behaviors. Children are usually paired with peers similar in age and participate in a weekly one hour feeding therapy group.
